About Coreframe

We got tired of rebuilding the same button twenty times.

Coreframe started as a way to skip the part of every project where someone has to invent a color scale, a type ramp, and a button component — again — before the real design work can start.

Every new project seemed to start the same way: a blank Figma file, a brand color picked from a brief, and an afternoon lost to naming color shades and lining up spacing values by eye. It wasn't hard work, exactly. It was just work that had already been done a hundred times before, on a hundred other projects.

"The best design systems are the ones nobody had to argue about building first."

Coreframe is built around a simple idea: the foundational 80% of a design system — tokens, scales, and core components — can be generated in minutes, so the time your team actually has goes into the 20% that makes your product distinct.

It's still early. New component types, better token controls, and deeper Figma variable support are all on the way — shaped directly by people using the plugin day to day.

What we believe

A few principles that shape every decision

These guide what we build next, and just as often, what we say no to.

Fast by default

If a task can be generated in seconds, it shouldn't take an afternoon. Speed is a feature, not an afterthought.

Figma-native, always

Everything Coreframe generates is a real Figma variable, style, or component — never a flattened export you have to rebuild.

Free to start

The core plugin stays free, permanently. We'd rather earn an upgrade than gate the basics.

Maker of Coreframe

I'm a product designer who got frustrated rebuilding the same design system basics on every project, so I started automating the parts that never really changed. Coreframe is currently a one-person project, built in the open and shaped by feedback from people using it.
